     The first month of 2012 has come and gone.  January was a great month at Liberty Baptist church.  Our Sunday School grew by 6 and 4 people joined the church.  We started a new youth group with 14 in attendance and some great plans were made.  The men’s prayer breakfast and workday had its largest attendance in over a year. Almost at every worship service, there have been several coming forward to pray.  To say that God has been blessing is an understatement. Why not stop right now and give thanks to God for these blessing and pray that we keep following His will for Liberty Baptist.

     I want once again challenge you to come to Sunday School.  This is the best way to learn more about God and His plan your life.  It is great way to build friendships and fellowship with others that face the same things you do on daily basics.  You will also know more about what is happening in the church and activities that are taking place.  There is a class for everyone and plenty of coffee and donuts for all.  Join us this Sunday at 9:45 and begin a new chapter in your walk with the Lord.

     Be praying for the youth as we kick off the new youth ministry.  Youth have always had a special place in my heart. I served as a youth minister for 16 years before God moved me into being a pastor.  God has blessed us with some great teenagers and we need to help them walk with the Lord.  Last Sunday night when I left church, there were over 35 kids playing football in our field.  On the way home, I was asking God how we can reach them and their families.  Pray with me that God will lead us in reaching our community and city for His glory.  Remember, everything we do is for His glory and all praise belongs to Him.  Start now by praying that God will use you and then be willing to follow His will.  Bring someone to church with you this week.  I hope to see you this Sunday and I cannot wait to see what God is going to do this month.

Thank you for logging onto our web site!  I know it was not by accident that you have done so!  God has a way to get our attention even when on line!  I am glad that you have chosen to click on this web site!  I hope you will visit Liberty Baptist Church when you are in the Columbus, GA area!  Please invite friends and family to attend with you this Sunday to the church that where every person with a past has a future in Jesus Christ.  "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow!"  I pray that you will meet our pastor, David Lix.  Since Brother David has been our pastor on September 16th, 2007 our church has experienced growth due to God's blessing on our church.  We rejoice that Brother David has baptized several new believers in Jesus since he has come to be our pastor.  If you are looking for a pastor that will love you and teach you God's Word in a new and unique way, you will not have to look any farther than Liberty Baptist Church.  I pray that you will visit  Liberty Baptist Church soon.  Please know Liberty Baptist Church offers much for a smaller congregation.  Our church family has had a growing and stable Awana program at Liberty Baptist Church for 16 years.  Our church music ministry is growing and we welcome you to sing God's praises with us in the Sanctuary Choir.  We rehearse every Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m.  We enjoy fellowship dinners at Liberty Baptist Church.   We have Bible Study Classes at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday.  I work with our Senior Adult Ministry at Liberty Baptist Church. My wife and two daughters will tell you:  you will not find a church that will love you anymore than our church has for 24 years.  Our 3 year old grandson, Monte and 2 year old granddaughter, Madeline are discovering this as well!   Please visit us soon and discover God's love!
