From the Pastor     May  News

This month we officially begin the “The Power of 10.” Our goal is for every Sunday School class to reach two lost people within the next twelve months. May is a month of prayer, for those that need the Lord and I want to encourage everyone to get involved. If you do not attend Sunday School, then you are missing a true blessing.  Not attending Sunday School is like going to watch the Braves in the World Series and upon arriving; you find the game in the bottom of the 9^th inning.  While you made it to the game, you missed the grand slam that put the Braves ahead.  Everyone is happy and you are trying to find out what had happened.  You missed so much and then before you know it, the game is over and you leave unfulfilled.  Sunday School is a placed to build friendships and community.  It is a place to discuses the Bible and learn from one another.  Liberty has a class for everyone and more on the way.

The first Sunday night of May is our Awana Award night.  You need to be at this exciting evening service to show your support for these children and youth.  This is a great way to show these kids and their families that we care and that Jesus loves them.  I heard there is a chance, that we may have a special guest joining us.  He will make you laugh as he prepares for next years Awana.

Invite your friends to join us on Mother’s Day.  We will have something special for our moms.  There will be no evening service on Mother’s Day.  Then on May 25, we will have an Ice Cream party after the evening service.  This will be a great time of fellowship and singing.  Bring your favorite flavor and toppings and we will have a cool Sunday night.

Our choir will begin preparing a Patriotic Cantata for you on Sunday, July 6, 11:00 a.m.  Our choir has been touched and blessed by the music and the great gospel message of the Patriotic Cantata.  I know that you and your family will be as well!  Please invite friends and family to attend with you this Sunday to the church that cares and shares, where the Spirit of the Lord gives liberty to the soul!  

I pray that you will meet our new pastor, David Lix.  Since Brother David has been our pastor on September 16th, our church has experienced growth due to God's blessing on our church.  We rejoice that Brother David has baptized several new believers in Jesus since he has come to be our pastor.  If you are looking for a pastor that will love you and teach you God's Word in a new and unique way, you will not have to look any farther than Liberty Baptist Church.  I pray that you will visit  Liberty Baptist Church soon.  Please know Liberty Baptist Church offers much for a smaller congregation.  Our church family has had a growing and stable Awana program at Liberty Baptist Church for 13 years.  Our church music ministry is growing and we welcome you to sing God's praises with us in the Sanctuary Choir.  We rehearse every Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m.  We enjoy fellowship dinners at Liberty Baptist Church.   We have Bible Study Classes at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday.  I work with our Senior Adult Ministry at Liberty Baptist Church.  May 20th, 11 am, our Sr. Adults will go to the Bullock House, Warm Springs.  My wife and two daughters will tell you:  you will not find a church that will love you anymore than our church has for 21 years.  Our new grandson, Monte born Januray 19th is discovering this as well!   Please visit us soon and discover God's love!
